Spiderweb

William learned to finger-knit at the age of 4 and has kept a tradition of gifting scarves each fall and winter just as fast as he can make them. This year, after reading an article about his Great-Great-Grandmother’s award winning ball of yarn, he was inspired to see how big he could make one. He immediately began to gather his supplies and has been working on it off and on and still wants to make it bigger. It’s been fun to create, and has gotten fairly heavy at it’s current stage.

Making such a large installation has presented it’s challenges, but if there’s one thing William loves, it’s a good challenge! Spiderweb takes up almost the entire hallway of the gallery space and can be seen from the front windows on Columbia St. Colorful and full of twists and texture, this installation will no doubt prove to be a favorite in years to come.
