2024 Remember The Removal

A new team of individuals rises to the challenge each year to honor their families’ struggle to survive along what is known as the Trail of Tears. The annual ride of over 950 miles has many stops along the way, at places of significance, to learn about and connect with the past in meaningful ways.

Members of both the Cherokee Nation in Oklahoma and the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians in North Carolina apply for acceptance into a 6 month long training program that includes the rigorous physical conditioning necessary to make the journey as a cyclist.
